Partners in fostering entrepreneurial culture
within Canadian communities
3ci - the Carleton Centre for Community Innovation at Carleton University is coordinating the delivery of LEAP pilot projects with community partners as part of its national strategy to to support the development of strong local economies.
How do LEAP partnerships work?
Some partners are direct service agencies in the project; others act as brokers to identify and support local affiliate organizations with clients from the target groups. They also help facilitate on-line resource networks to support research in lifelong learning and testing of methodologies.
Local affiliate organizations identify and support clients in the development of personal learning plans that increase their entrepreneurial skills and employability. Individual clients create these plans with the support of three complementary strategies provided by the project delivery teams: coaching/mentoring, self-directed learning, and personal resource networks.
What are the benefits to partnership?
Partners and affiliates benefit in three ways:
Research and testing of innovative entrepreneurial development and employability training targeted to specific client groups.
Strengthening and expanding networks of stakeholders actively invested in raising the employability levels of your clients.
Increasing overall organizational capacity to respond to clients’ needs (for example, by adapting LEAP course content for use in your own programs using our Creative Commons license).
